Punish Takoradi Fake Pregnant Woman If . . . - Nana Akomea

STC Managing Director, Nana Akomea, has waded into discussions on the fake pregnancy and kidnapping brouhaha involving a woman named Josephine Panyin Mensah who resides in Takoradi, Western Region.

Mrs. Josephine Panyin Mensah is in the news for concocting stories about her being pregnant and kidnapped by some unidentified people after she went missing and later found.

Her stories called for further investigations by the Police and it's disclosed that she has been lying, hence making her a suspect.

She is facing charges of deceit of public officer, publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic and was arraigned before the Takoradi Circuit Court presided by Justice Micheal Ampadu on Monday, September 27, 2021.

She has been granted a GHC 50,000 bail but remains in the custody of the Police for failing to meet the bail conditions.

Five lawyers have decided to render their services to her pro bono.

As this hard-to-understand, hard-to-believe story keeps unfolding, some group of persons including seasoned journalist Kwesi Pratt and Senior Psychologist Prof. Joseph Osafo has pleaded on her behalf, calling on the authorities to rescind their decision to prosecute her.

But Nana Akomea shares a different view as, to him, the woman should only be left off the hook if it turns out that she's innocent or didn't act on purpose.

To him, ''if it's intentional, then she must be punished''.

He spoke to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo''.
