Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe says Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) activists can decide to engage in their amorous act away from the prying eyes of the public.

However, he warns, hostility to their practice will surely intensify should they (LGBTQ+ proponents) decide to come out openly to force society to accept same-sex relationships which are not in order with nature.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, the private legal practitioner said the conversations surrounding Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ+) issues are a result of insurgents attempting to make public their activities contrary to societal norms.

To him, seasoned lawyer Akoto Ampaw and the rest of the group members kicking the anti-LGBTQ+ Bill were born into a cultural setting where anything contrary to that will amount to culturally offensive to their families.

“What someone is doing in his closet, I am not there and I don’t know; but if you make up your mind to do it openly, then do what is acceptable. This conversation will not come about if, at the end of the day, it won’t happen that Kwadwo will want to marry Kwadwo and Yaa wants to marry the same sex. If you are in your room and you are doing your things quietly, that is your problem but to come out that we all should accept same-sex relationships publicly, that is where the problem is.

“These G-18 members were born into a cultural setting. Jesus Christ was born into Jewish culture and one of the traditional practices of the Jew is circumcision and so it matters not who you are, you will be circumcised. If you are not circumcised, you are deemed not to be holy. If you say a Jew is uncircumcised, it is culturally offensive to the person”.

“My senior Akoto Ampaw is from Oti Region and he was born into a cultural setting. I am sure his family performed a naming ceremony for him to get the name Akoto Ampaw. When he was born, some people in his family named him Akoto Ampaw; he didn’t give the name to himself. We were born into a certain cultural setting,” he argued.

Whiles pointing out God in His infinite wisdom created a man with some features to differentiate him from that of a woman, the private legal practitioner indicted pro-LGBTQ+ for their inability to justify "why the Creator created man and woman and He didn’t create man and man or woman and woman".

“Nature organises everything orderly. Have you seen a man with a womb before? Have you seen a woman with testicles before? Even from a biological understanding of nature, everything has been organised in an orderly. It is some people who think that due to their level of education, they are wiser than God/Creator”.

“What we all know is that it is not normal and if you insist that is what you want, the society will not agree with you. Even from the traditional Akan or Ewe cultural settings, if you are born male but you begin to exhibit behaviours associated with females, you are often referred to as “Kojo Besia”. The reason why they are calling you by that name is that what you are doing is not what a normal male child should behave. It is for good reason why such name is given to the child”.

“God who created heaven and earth, in the garden of Eden, he did not create Adam and Adam. We all believe in the story of creation; in the garden of Eden, God didn’t create Eve and Eve. God created Adam and Eve; unless you don’t believe that account of creation”.

“ . . those who advocate for same-sex relationship have not been able to disprove why the Creator created man and woman and He didn’t create man and man or woman and woman. They have not been able to provide any convincing justification for it,” he submitted.
