My mind has been groping to assimilate the statement from Most Rev. Philip Naameh, the President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference with respect to the assertion that there is a wanton dissipation of the country’s resources by this administration.

He also observed that “Though poverty stares us in the face, it appears lost to those with power”. The Most Rev. Naameh also asserted that the promise to protect the public purse has become an illusion.

A critical analysis of the statement shows that the Most Rev. Naameh failed to give us the ingredients that would enable us to make serious surgical analysis of the issues contained in the release.

His statement is speculative at best since it does not provide further details that would necessitate any serious disambiguation of his statement.

One is tempted to believe that the Most Rev. Philip Naameh made the statement without any proper assessment of the issues. It would appear that he wanted the nation to talk about issues of corruption without any essential ingredients.

It is difficult to delve into such issues when no meaty grounds are provided. In effect, the statement fell short of the details that would assist in its proper examination, and this is my humble submission.
