2022 Budget: It's So Insulting That They Know The Truth But Lie To Us - Parliamentarians 'Rebuked'

West African Director of Samaritan Strategy and a lecturer at Pentecost University, Dr. Christopher Ampadu, has cautioned the Members of Parliament against engaging in partisan politics when addressing national issues.

Dr. Christopher Ampadu was discussing the 2022 Budget Statement and Economic Policy presented by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' Thursday morning.

In his view, the budget must be well explained to Ghanaians for them to understand but the government's Communication Directorate is doing less with public education on the budget.

He also wondered why the Members of Parliament, because they want to project their political parties' interests, throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians.

Dr. Ampadu advised the Parliamentarians to stop propagandizing national issues and be truthful to the people of Ghana,  stressing "one day, one day, you will account to God".

To him, "it's so insulting to us, the public" that "a politician or MP . . . knowing the truth but because of dirty politics, don't tell us the truth".

"This selfish politics hasn't helped Ghana up till now. I strongly believe we shouldn't entertain it. We have to address it for us to know that Ghanaians, at least, have respect within the domain of Africa and the world," he emphasized.

He urged the MPs to ''love this country and the people we claim to serve''.
