Apiate Explosion: GNPC Foundation To Offer Scholarships To All Students In Tertiary Schools

Last Thursday's explosion at Apiate near Bogoso was a tragic one and though the lives lost cannot be resuscitated, the residents may however heave a sigh of relief as the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) steps in with help for them.

While the State Housing Company has been tasked to revamp the community which was completely razed to the ground by the explosion, the GNPC, through its Foundation, has indicated it will take care of the students in the community.

Speaking in an interview with Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'' Monday morning, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GNPC Foundation, Dominic Eduah disclosed that the Foundation will offer scholarship for every student from Apiate on admission into a tertiary institution or yet to be admitted.

He believed this will help relieve the students' parents of their burdens in this tragic moment.

''We've decided in this town and you are in a tertiary institution in Ghana, as we speak, either you are about to begin or already have begun; we are putting you on the GNPC Foundation," he said.

He further revealed that the GNPC Foundation will also assist the State Housing Company by constructing modern schools for the community.
