AFRICOM Allegedly Planning Secret Operation In Bangui
Credible sources from the Ghanaian capital, Accra, have reported that United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) is allegedly recruiting citizens of the Central African Republic in Accra to carry out a secret operation in the capital, Bangui, in the near future.
In same time, a delegation from AFRICOM visited a refugee camp located on the road to Côte d'Ivoire, 370 kilometers from Accra, which houses 21 people from the Central African Republic.
AFRICOM is one of the eleven unified combatant commands of the United States Department of Defense, headquartered at Kelley Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany.
Political observers say that AFRICOM will seek to respond to the building up relevance of Russia on the African continent, as the relationship between Russia and Central African Republic, show great friendliness.
Russian businessman with unproven ties to Africa, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is allegedly cited as the possible aim of the operation.
The United States sees the inevitability of renewing its policy in African countries for fear of losing its influence on the continent, and its longstanding rival in the power game might be the factor they see to take out from the picture.
