Bello Bitugu Wants GOC To Probe Allegations Arising After His Resignation As CDM For Beijing Games

Former Ghana Chef De Mission for Beijing Winter Olympic Games, Bella Bello Bitugu has called on the Ghana Olympic Committee to investigate allegations arising after his resignation from the top position.

Mr. Bello Bitugu resigned from his position on January 25, 2022, a few days to the commencement of the Olympic Games in the Asian town.

But the aftermath of his resignation comes with numerous allegations of which Mr. Bitugu has called on the Ghana Olympic Committee to intervene and commence investigations into the reports.

“A document has come to my attention with various allegations after I tendered in my resignation as Chef de Mission for the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. I write to officially inform the Board of the GOC of this and also request that the board of the GOC intervenes to investigate all the allegations and determine the truth, validity or otherwise, and also investigate why such a working draft document supposed to be among only two to four persons within the GOC, found its way to the public”, part of a statement from Bello Bitugu dated January 31, 2022 reads.

He added that “I am ready and available at any time to provide further documentation, proof and verification to my assertions and position as stated therein. I am on standby, and I look forward to a prompt, efficient, professional and objective intervention.”
