Ablakwa, Rawlings Host Delegation On Late Fodzoku Chief’s Funeral

As the scheduled period for activities to mark the final funeral and burial rites of the late Togbega Afum Asare III draws near, a delegation from the Fodzoku Traditional Council has met with Parliament to, hold discussions around the ceremony.

The delegation was hosted by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, together with Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, the Member of Parliament for Klottey-Korle Constituency.

Mr. Ablakwa paying tribute to the late Togbega Afum Asare III, described him as an “oracle of wisdom, a pillar of stability and a traditional ruler with a golden heart who cared deeply for his people throughout his 73-year reign”.

According to the MP, the late Paramount Chief offered great support during the construction of Fodzoku-Juapong road; he finished the Fodzoku community electrification projects and generously donated land for a pre-school project undertaken by USAID in his community.

“His legacy would be eternally celebrated”, the former Education Minister added.

Togbega Afum Asare III who was installed the Paramount Chief of the Fodzoku traditional area in 1945, passed on January 1, 2019, at VRA Hospital in Akosombo after a short illness.

To mark his final funeral and burial rites, the Fodzoku Traditional Council outdoored a weeklong activities scheduled to begin from April 4 to 10, 2022.
