Don't Be Afraid; We're Committed To Protecting You - Police Assures Ghanaians

The Police Service is assuring the general public of its commitment to combatting crimes in the country.

Following recent robberies involving some Police officers and civilians, of which four Policemen have been arrested and two killed in an exchange of gunshots at Borteyman near Ashaiman after they led the Police to the hideout of some gang members, the administration is bent on streamlining their operations to safeguard the citizenry.

Speaking in an interview with host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'' Wednesday morning, the Director-General of the Police Service, DCOP Kwesi Ofori pledged that the ''Police is so committed. The administration is so committed. It's unfortunately that some Police officers have done something like this but they will be prosecuted''.

''The Police administration is so determined that we have established an internal machinery to be able to police the Police. That any Police officer who will engage in a wrongdoing or is a bad cop involved in criminality or any other thing that is inimical to the general welfare of Ghanaians...we will fight against it...The Police will continue to ensure every criminal in the Service will be found and apprehended so as we imbibing the much-needed security Ghanaians are looking for'', he added.
