DHHC Organizes Free Screening For Makola Traders (PHOTOS)

In Ghana, regular vital checks for people who are showing no signs of sickness are extremely uncommon.

People often wait for the state of their conditions to become more difficult to control before rushing to see the doctor.

Their excuse? Lack of time, insufficient funds, etc. This is why Delta Home Health Care (DHHC), a home health care agency with trained doctors and nurses decided to bring healthcare to the doorsteps of traders.

On 19th March 2022, DHHC held a health screening at Rawlings Park, a suburb of Accra for traders at the Makola market.

Speaking to the media at the event, the Founder of DHHC, Miss Vida Kwofie “The mortality rate here in Ghana particularly due to non-communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases is rising at an alarming rate. We deemed it therefore highly necessary to start our free screening at Makola. These men and women work very hard to support their families and therefore do not see the need to take time off to check on their health".

According to her, "Diabetes and Hypertension are the silent killers that can lead to many health conditions. It is however important to take advantage of these screenings as they come free of charge and allow you to check your health status".
