Renowned sports administrator, Herbert Amponsah Mensah has congratulated the Black Stars for qualifying Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He is very optimistic that the current Black Star squad will pull a surprise in Qatar despite their somewhat difficult qualification and poor performance at the AFCON.
“Congratulation to the Black Stars. Their performance in Abuja has lifted the whole nation. The world is difficult, people are going through difficulty and you’ve put a smile on faces.” He said in a video sighted by Peacefmonline.com
The Ghana national team after drawing 1-1 with Nigeria in Abuja last Tuesday secured qualification to this year’s world cup courtesy of the away goal rule.
Mr Mensah who is delighted with the team’s performance also lauded the technical team headed by Otoo Addo.
“The mood of the team from different from AFCON and we have to give credit to coach Otoo Addo and his assistances. They helped put that together.” The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko CEO said
The Black Stars will know their group opponents for the FIFA World Cup when the draw is conducted on Friday, April 1, 2022.
