Easter: Christians Must Be Prepared To Sacrifice

The Right Reverend Prosper Samuel Dzomeku, the Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), says Christians must be prepared to sacrifice their resources for the work of God.

He said they must also contribute to the development of their communities and nation, helping the vulnerable and making peace with one another.

Rt. Rev. Dzomeku in his Easter message to Christians said, "just as God freely gave Jesus Christ to die for our sins, we should also give."

"Let us remember as a nation, that, Jesus is the reason for the celebration of Easter and it is for this reason that all our actions should be to the glory of His name," he added.

He said the celebration of Easter was a defining moment of the salvation and hope Christ brought to the world more than 2,000 years ago.

The Moderator said while it was a wonderful time of the year when Ghanaians celebrated faith and family, the absolute gift of salvation of God through the crucifixion, death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ, should not be lost.

"So let us continue to soberly reflect on the essence of the season: the gift of redemption, by accepting him as our Lord and Saviour and by living in Him as faithful stewards and disciples whose life will impact our society positively," he added.

He urged all drivers, pedestrians and traders to exhibit the highest sense of caution during the season to avoid the loss of lives.
