World Earth Day: CCLG-Africa Calls For A Sustained Climate Action And Partnership For Planet Earth

Climate Communications and Local Governance Africa (CCLG-Africa), has joined the call for stakeholders and partners to stay together in taking sustained climate actions to help the world deliver the needed greenhouse gas reductions to meet the Paris Agreement by 2030 to save the earth.

This is to commemorate the Day which falls on April 22 every year. This year’s celebration which is under the theme: ‘Invest In our Planet', is expected to change the business climate, the political climate, to take the action on climate change

“The clock is ticking fast and the time is really short. However, while there is still some time, let’s all come together to “Invest In Our Planet” by taking the Climate actions needed to help the world reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by mid-century to keep the global temperature below 1,5°C,” said the President of CCLG, Kofi Don-Agor.

According to earthday.org, “Now is the time for the unstoppable courage to preserve and protect our health, our families, and our livelihoods.”

Earth Day, also known as the International Mother Earth Day, is celebrated every year on April 22 to spread awareness about issues, including the rampant increase in pollution, global warming, and deforestation, which harm the environment and result in the destruction of the planet.
