A middle-aged woman suspected to be suffering from epilepsy is alleged to have crashed into a passenger Yutong bus around 37- Legion Village on Thursday morning. The woman, yet to be identified, according to an eyewitness account, was driving at a top speed from the Airport area towards 37 Military Hospital but upon reaching Legion Village, she had a seizure and ran into the bus. The woman, driving a Toyota Corolla with registration number GR 5027-10, suddenly fell unconscious whilst foaming from the mouth. She was sitting behind the steering wheel, with the engine still on. The eyewitness said it took the mercy of passersby and passengers from the Yutong bus with registration number GT 4615, to save the woman. They consequently rushed her to the 37 Military Hospital for treatment. Confirming the story to Daily Guide, the commander in charge of the Airport Motor Traffic And Transport Unit, DSP William Asante, said only doctors could determine whether she was suffering from epilepsy as alleged by some eyewitnesses. He noted that police personnel visited the scene and consequently visited the 37 Military Hospital but they were denied access to the women since she was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit. Visitors are not allowed to visit patients at that unit. We shall take her statement when she recovers. Meanwhile, according to the MTTU boss, the vehicle has been towed to the police station to avoid vehicular traffic.
