You Don't Do Experiment When You Want To Break The 8 - Prominent Lawyer Makes Case For Wontumi's Retention

A Prominent Kumasi-based Legal Practitioner, Lawyer William Kusi, has warned party delegates in the Ashanti Region to be cautious of their choice in the upcoming elections, warning the party will fail totally should they fail to maintain Chairman Wontumi.

According to the popular Lawyer, the NPP cannot do experiments with its leadership, particularly in the Ashanti Region, when it is looking forward to Breaking the 8-year cycle.

"You don't do experiments when you want to Break The 8, look, you know I have my issues with Wontumi but if the NPP wants to retain power in 2024, then they should be careful about the choice they make in the Ashanti Region," He said.

He argues that the 2024 elections is a crucial one which requires experience leadership, adding that the party can try other options after achieving the ambitious objective of breaking the 8-year jinx.

Speaking on Oyerepa TV on Thursday morning, Lawyer Kusi said that he has assessed all the candidates contesting the position and believes Chairman Wontumi is still the best person to lead the NPP in the Ashanti Region.

"Wontumi is a tried and tested person; the party knows his strength and weakness so it will be easy to correct his ways but what about someone you don't know, how do you manage such a person. I think the party should be careful not to make any mistake of changing him because it will seriously go against them" He warned.
