Rawlings Booms Today

THE ASHANTI Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ready for todays June 4 celebration taking place in Kumasi where party founder and former president Jerry John Rawlings is expected to dish out hot meals of bashing to President Atta Mills and his greedy bastard appointees. Regional Chairman of the party Yaw Obimpeh said the region was more than prepared to do everything within its power to make this years June 4 celebration one of the best-organized events of the party in recent times. Mr. Obimpeh recently unleashed a bombshell when he said that former President Rawlings was no more a force to reckon with in Ghanaian politics, whilst addressing NDC faithful at a meeting. His sudden change of attitude, especially the assurance of playing a key role to ensure the success of the June 4 event, has come as a great surprise to many political analysts. Receiving the June 4 celebration committee, led by one Seth who is a personal bodyguard of former President Rawlings, last week where he was officially notified, Mr. Obimpeh said he was ready for the big show. Mr. Obimpeh received the delegation at the Ashanti Regional office of the NDC at Asafo and key members of the party like Joseph Yammin, NDC Regional Scribe, were also present. He assured the delegation that he in particular and the entire Ashanti regional NDC in general were ready to host the rest of the party to celebrate the great event. Joseph Yammin, who disclosed this to Daily Guide in an interview, said Mr. Obimpeh also promised that the region would play leading roles to make the event memorable. The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling party noted that official letters of the impending June 4 celebration was also given to the Regional Minister, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah. A similar letter was also addressed to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Boss, Samuel Sarpong and Regional Police Commander Patrick Timbillah. Yammin said all the aforementioned dignitaries received the June 4 Committee with open arms in their respective offices when the delegation called on them. On his part, Yammin said everything was being put in place to make the event, which takes place at the Jubilee Park, grand and urged all NDC faithful to grace the occasion. Mr Rawlings, at the launch of Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlingss campaign in early May, took on the Mills administration, saying that he could not guarantee victory for the NDC if the president was still in the driving seat. We finally lost 2012 eight months back. So until we change the gear and the driver, and I say this without malice and any disrespect to the Prof, but I guess we all have our limitations The time has come when the change must take place to enable us rescue this country, Rawlings had said amidst a thunderous applause from the crowd, at the Accra International Conference Centre. He however preferred to reserve his energy for todays June 4 celebration when he would probably open the can of worms about things happening in government since he assured his fans of more revelations.
