JJ Is Bereft Of Boom Statements

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa, Hon. Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah says former President Jerry John Rawlings may lose the last vestige of respect and relevance he has among Ghanaians should he continually make baseless and unnecessary statements that impugn the integrity of others. According to the Fanteakwa MP, the former President can be said to be now bereft of meaningful statements considering the speech he delivered during the 32nd commemoration of the June 4th Uprising in Kumasi over the weekend. He said nothing new to say, he stated. He told Kwami Sefa-Kayi host of Peace Fms Kokrokoo programme that some of the remarks made by the former President should be treated with the contempt it deserves since it lacks substance. According to the NPP MP who grapped the headlines of virtually all the major newspapers last week for remarks deemed denigrating to people of Northern extraction and was nearly dragged before the Privileges Committee of Parliament by deputy Energy Minister, Hon. Inusah Fuseini, for that; the commemoration of June 4th by Mr Rawlings and people close to him was unnecessary. With particular reference to statements by Mr Rawlings that ex-president Kufuor is a threat to Ghanas democracy and was so corrupt whiles in office that he (Kufuor) can fund the NPP's campaign single-handedly, the NPP MP described the NDC founder as perhaps hallucinating. To buttress his submission, the Fanteakwa MP named some close allies and school mates of Mr. Rawlings including Osahene Boakye Gyan, the late Ex-President Dr. Hilla Limann, Kojo Tsikata, among others as people who have fallen out of the good books of the former president simply because he wanted to lord it over them. "...Rawlings should not think he can have the world to himself...it seems he cannot accommodate anyone for long periods judging from the bad blood between him and the current NDC administration...and how he kicked out Victor Smith who even at a point in time sounded like him (Rawlings)," Hon Amankwah Asiamah said.
