TVET Is The Panacea To Ghana's Unemployment Canker - David Prah

The Deputy Director General of the Ghana Technical and Vocational Training (TVET) service, Mr. David Prah has touted Nana Addo government's introduction of the free TVET policy to compliment the much appreciated free SHS policy as the solution to the unemployment situation in Ghana.

According to Mr. Prah, government has refurbished all abandoned technical and vocational institutions across the country with state-of-the-art equipment to enhance teaching and learning.

He mentioned institutions like the Takoradi Technical Institute,Kekam Technical, Assin Fosu, Dansoman NVTI among other institutions to have benefited from the President's benevolence with regard to the free TVET policy.

Speaking on NEAT FM's weekend political show dubbed "Asɛm Yi Di Ka with host Mcjerry Osei Agyeman, Mr. Prah revealed that, before the NPP came into power, the total enrolment of student population in Ghana stood at 17000 and with the introduction of the free TVET policy, the enrollment number has increased to 46000.

This, he stated, will go a long way to reducing the unemployment rate as President Nana Akufo-Addo and his able Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia seek to achieve, hence the introduction of numerous policies for the Ghanaian citizenry, especially the youth.
