E/R: St. Roses Old Students Held 2022 Thanksgiving Service At Akwatia

The Catholic Bishop of Koforidua Diocese, Most Rev. Joseph Afrifah -Agyekum says humility is a virtue that has to be assimilated by all irrespective of one’s status. According to him, this holds the key to unlocking many doors and challenges in our daily living and interactions.

Most Rev. Afrifah-Agyekum said this in a sermon at the 2022 Roses Old Students Association Thanksgiving Service in Akwatia in the Eastern Region.

The Thanksgiving Service which is an annual event is organised by the Old Students of Saint Roses Senior High School (ROSA) in honour of St. Rose of Lima, the patron Saint of the school. The celebration provides an opportunity for socialization and the coming together of olf students to celebrate their Alma Mater. Again, various years groups and the ROSA body use the opportunity to present projects and donations to the school.

In previous years such donations have been highlights of speech and prize-giving day celebrations. This year the 1982,1992, 2002 and 2012 year groups who celebrated 40, 30, 20 and 10 years respectively since completing their education in the esteemed institution, played key roles in organising and attending the thanksgiving service which was held in Akwatia.

The highlight of the celebration was the unveiling and commissioning of projects by the celebrating year groups.
The 1982 year group presented a model dining hall table to symbolically represent the giving of new dining hall tables to revamp the facilities of the students' dining hall.

1992(94) year group renovated and refurbished an open-air uncompleted bathhouse facility at a cost of over two hundred thousand Ghana Cedis. The unveiling of the facility was enjoyed by all present.
