Nana Akomea Commends Intelligence Operatives For Arresting Aisha Huang

Managing Director of the Intercity STC, Nana Akomea has commended the security and intelligence services for re-arresting Aisha Huang, a Chinese national and 'galamsey kingpin'.

Aisha Huang was deported from Ghana in December 2018 for illegal mining offences but, in January 2022, she re-entered Ghana under a new identity.

She is said to have acquired a new passport and used the Togo border to gain entry into the country.

Aisha Huang had also reportedly acquired a Ghana Card with a new name, Huang En, and returned to her illegal mining activities in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

She was arrested with other accomplices at Ahodwo in Kumasi and on Monday, September 5, 2022, the Accra Circuit Court 9 presided by Samuel Bright Acquah remanded her into Police custody.

Nana Akomea, speaking on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", stated that the security and intelligence services who located the whereabouts of Aisha need to be applauded saying, "I find it difficult to differentiate the faces of the Chinese. They really resemble each other. I haven't been able to tell one Chinese from the other. So, to have the intelligence operatives identify Aisha Huang is commendable and they must be hailed for arresting her".
