The Turkish Maarif Foundation Partners with the Al Hijra Club to offer World Class Education in Ghana

The Turkish Ambassador to Ghana, Dr. Özlem Ergün Ulueren, has explained the rationale behind the partnership between the Turkish Maarif Foundation and the Hijra Club to take over and run their school as Maarif International School Ghana which will greatly benefit Ghanaian parents looking for world class but affordable education for their wards.  

Speaking at the signing and handing over ceremony between the Turkish Maarif Foundation Ghana and the Hijra Club to sign documents of a new basic school at Spintex, she made it known that this partnership will strengthen the two countries, which will provide quality education services to International Standards in developing countries, such as Ghana.

Dr. Özlem Ergün Ulueren added that this initiative will help Ghana achieve the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) which is the quality education which is to ensure that by 2030, all girls and boys will have access to quality early childhood education and help the President, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo’s vision of “Ghana Beyond Aid”.

She again commended the Government for such an important and applausive initiative which will further help the Nation and Africa as a whole in terms of Education.

Executive Board Member of the Turkish Maarif Foundation Ghana, Professor. Dr. Mehmet Ozkan also stated the benefits a Ghanaian student enjoys in this educational programme which is to travel to Turkey with other students across the globe and also has a fully funded tuition.

The Hijra Club Chairman, El Haj Yusif Ibrahim also made it known that the partnership between Hijra Club and Maarif Foundation is to assist learners, especially Ghanaian youth to have access to quality Education for the betterment of the Nation as a whole.

The Turkish Maarif Foundation (TMF) was established in 2016 by an act of Parliament passed by the Turkish government.

This state foundation’s primary function is to provide high-quality, holistic education and education services and educational aid to young people worldwide.

The foundation’s mission is to carry out comprehensive educational activities throughout the world based on the shared values of humanity and the Anatolian tradition of wisdom as the sole entity authorized to provide educational services abroad on behalf of the Turkish State.

The foundation currently has 363 educational institutions and 51 dormitories spread across the globe. As a result, the TMF oversees institutions in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

As expected, most institutions are concentrated in Africa, where there is the greatest need. Maarif is now a global educational institution with over 50,000 students.
