VPL Concrete Ltd. Commissions New Plant in Accra

VPL Concrete Limited, a concrete batching firm on Wednesday, October 26 commissioned its newly established Plant in Accra.

VPL Concrete Ltd, is a wholly owned Ghanaian construction firm, registered under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), and headquartered in Accra.

The Company has invested in a modern, sophisticated, commercial and environmentally friendly concrete batching plant; a scientific additive laboratory and concrete transit, pumping tracks to batch, produce and supply laboratory-engineered ready mix concrete (RMC) of different strength grades for various construction projects.

Speaking to a team of Press men, the Board Chairman of the newly established construction firm, Nana Owiredu Wadie, the Nkosuohene of Kwahu – Nkwatia stated that Ghana’s experience of growth in infrastructure has been driven by the investment in technology in the building and construction sector.

He added that the new firm is one of the many technological advancements that has been identified by the Board of the Company as having the capability to help standardise construction in the country.

Nana Owiredu Wadie further urged all stakeholders to work closely with the management and the Board to help achieve its objectives.

Managing Director of the VPL, Mr Komla Agbenyegah Ayivi recall that the VPL has been positioned to shape the future of generations and change the narrative of Ghanaian businesses not out – leaving their founders.

Mr Ayivi called on corporate bodies to recommend the VPL Concrete batching operations and share their insights and experiences in the building construction industry.

“We invited you here first because we know you and we respect you, but to also, announced to you that we have an ultra-modern, efficient concrete batching plant that’s opened for business. We want to shape the future of generations. We at VPL would like to change the narrative of Ghanaian businesses not out-leaving their founders but we cannot do this without your support and assistance and we are ready to take all the support and assistance we can get. How can you support us? One would ask. You can support us by ordering and using our ready-mix concrete (RMC) for your construction projects, you can as well recommend us to other contractors and developers. For our key partners Gyata Cement, Saint – Gobain, GOIL, Renalt Engineers, Cheshire Quarry and GHACEM and the various aggregate queries, we need your support as well. We need you to share your insights and experiences with us. We are open to learning from your experience in the market places. We would like to work with you in a way that would be mutually beneficial to our respective firms,” the MD lamented.

Co-founder of the VPL Mr Eric Wadie, a building and construction contractor on his part added that he thought about the idea of adding value to construction. He stated that the VPL will be cost-effective, and be more tolerant to the environment and reduce pollution, and perhaps, that’s what brought about the establishment of the VPL.

The plant is installed with two 100-ton silos with a combined storage capacity of 200 tons of cement at a time. This will enable the firm to run production for long periods at a full glare capacity.

The plant comes with twenty (20) cubic meter four-compartment bay aggregate storage bins with the capacity to store a combined total of eighty cubic meters of quarry materials at a time.

It has an overhead aggregate weigh hopper of (5000KG) connected to the aggregate transfer conveyor to the concrete mixer.

The batching plant has equipment and accessories controlled by highly sophisticated but user-friendly technology that ensures accuracy and efficiency in the operational process, leading to total quality control of fresh concrete production.
