With the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta being asked by Members of Parliament of his political party, the New Patriotic Party, to leave office; speculations are already flying around that the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu will be appointed to replace Mr. Ofori-Atta should the MPs succeed in removing him.

The entire Majority Caucus are in agreement that Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta must go to allow a fresh mind to lead the Finance Ministry.

They have petitioned the President to remove him but the President has pleaded with them to allow the Finance Minister to conclude the IMF deal before he will make a final decision on the matter.

However, Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta has been asked by the general public to resign to save his integrity.

On Friday's edition of "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, the Member of Parliament for Kwadaso, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko was asked about his take on the reports circulating that Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu will become the next Finance Minister.

In response, he denied knowledge of the reports saying he only came across the information from the print media.

However, he emphasized that Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who he likened to soccer legend Lionel Messi and revealed is nicknamed 'Messi' in Parliament, will be a suitable replacement for the Finance Minister.

"We are hoping for the best" but "I think he can acquit himself well", he briefly replied while speaking to the Presenter of the show, Kwami Sefa Kayi.
