Objection Against Dr. Nkansah’s Appointment Is Needless And Unfounded, He’s An Exception Leader - Forum

A group calling itself the Objective Media Forum has described the call for the removal of the new Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) as a needless exercise.

In a press statement, the Forum urged those who objected to cease fire because their actions were unjustified and unfounded.

According to the statement signed by the Convener, Mr. Samuel Anaafi Kokoto, the new GES boss is more than qualified for the position.

”Dr. Nkansah’s competencies and exceptional leadership qualities are unparalleled.

He has demonstrated experience in academia and education policy administration over the last 15 years.

His contributions to the sector make him better qualified to lead the Ghana Education sector.

His experience in Financial Economics and Business Administration (Finance), Economics will aid in ensuring value for money and accountability, particularly with resource management at GES, and will aid in maintaining fiscal discipline.

His experience working and serving on numerous governing councils, including Koforidua Technical University and St. Louis College of Education, qualifies him to lead the Ghana Education Service.

We would like to urge the teacher unions and anyone else who is opposing his appointment to stop and allow him to work in the position of the Ghana Education Service as a sterling state body,” the statement said.

The Objective Media Forum expresses its displeasure with the National Association of Graduate Teachers, the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) over the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as the new Acting Director General of the Ghana Education Service.

The teacher unions’ concerns are unfounded and should not be taken seriously.

Although we deeply respect and cherish teachers for their selfless dedication to the teaching profession, their current agitations and call for Dr. Nkansah’s removal are unnecessary and fruitless.

Dr.

We would like to urge the teacher unions and anyone else who is opposing his appointment to stop and allow him to work in the position of the Ghana Education Service as a sterling state body.

Most importantly, the Objective Media Forum believes that the new GES boss needs our support to effectively discharge his duties.

We are hopeful that he will transform the Ghana Education Service and leave an enviable legacy for all to see.

The Forum also urged Ghanaians and all stakeholders in the education sector to back him up and help him succeed.

It is our collective responsibility to assist him in carrying out his mandate and transforming the education sector for the benefit of all.

Signed

Mr. Samuel Amaagi Kokoto
