Frimpong Dogs England: My Name Is Ample Testimony That I am A Ghanaian

Arsenals young enterprising midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has demonstrated high level patriotism by turning his back on the England national soccer side, the Three Lions. Rather, he has opted to play in the Ghanaian colours, stating emphatically that: I want to play for Ghana, because I am a Ghanaian and not for the Three Lions of England. My name is ample testimony that I am a Ghanaian, and so I find it ridiculous playing for the England national team with the kind of name I bear, the player said on Hot FM on Monday. Frimpong, who has featured for the English juvenile side and premier side Arsenal, added: I have been offered the chance to play for the English side, but I think playing for Ghana would be appropriate. Responding to what has been the reason for the Gunners trophy-less streak in recent years, he attributed it to the lack of power in midfield saying, It is a young team, and I think apart from Alex Song, who is aggressive in midfield, the rest need to add some power to their game. The 19-year-old intelligent midfielder sided with his manager Arsene Wengers philosophy of frugality which encourages the training of young players, rather than spending huge sums of money to acquire the services of a single star. Wenger sees no logic in spending so much on a single player, while he can use the same amount to recruit about five or six players. I believe that is why Arsenal has an unblemished debt record. Arsenal is not in debt like most clubs in the premiership, and no single player receives more than a 100,000 as salary per week, Frimpong noted. He admitted that there is a resemblance between him and Michael Essien regarding their style of play, but however pointed out that its true, a lot of people make that comparison but we are two different individuals. While he is offensive-minded, I am defensive. He moves forward, hence his scoring prowess, while Im tasked to stay at the rear.
