Gospel artiste Bernard Amankwah is calling for a stronger Ghana/Naija bond in showbiz as such collaborations have helped in shaping Ghana's entertainment scene.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, December 31, the headline artiste for the Celebration of His Grace concert commended the likes of Nigeria's Dele Momodu of Ovation Magazine and Charterhouse's Iyiola Ayoade for creating an enabling environment for such collabos to thrive.

Explaining his submission to Graphic Showbiz, the Presence artiste said his comments are out of appreciation for Nigeria for holding up Ghana from having music stars from the West as concert headliners among others in recent times.

"I celebrate people such as Dele Momodu and Iyiola Ayoade for their influence in pushing the Nigerian agenda when it comes to music, comedy and fashion industry in Ghana.

"These people made me very proud this Christmas when I saw Nigerian artistes headline our events in Ghana. They pushed their artistes on us and now they have taken over.

“Today, we don’t need to travel out of the subregion for artistes to headline our shows because Nigerian music and artistes have a strong footing in Ghana, thanks to these collaborations championed by people such as Momodu and Ayoade.

"I see Ghana/Nigerian collaboration as key to the growth of our industry as we tap from each other’s experiences. There's no need for competition if both parties understand the mutual benefits of such collabos”, he said.

Since 2007, Bernard Amankwah who is known for songs such as Your Presence, The Glory has Come, Mercy Rescues Me, I'm Redeemed and One More Step has always welcomed the month of September with glee.

This is because the singer has purposely dedicated the ninth month of the year to profoundly express his appreciation to God through his annual Celebration of his Grace concert.

In the past years, the show has hosted some of the finest Ghana’s Gospel artistes such as Empress Gifty, Cynthia of Daughters of Glorious Jesus fame, Joe Beecham, MOG Music among a host of others.

He told Graphic Showbiz that he is looking at hosting a Nigerian artiste this year in appreciation of the Ghana/Naija collabo which has thrived for years.
