A hearty discussion with the tendered in his resignation to the H.E the President after ' a lengthy meeting'.

In a powerful show of gratitude to the President for the trust reposed in him, Hon Alan Kyerematen issued a hearty message to the President.


The seasoned politician appreciated the support from his colleague Ministers, Parliamentarians, the New Patriotic Party, family, friends, the General public and the international community.

In a short appreciation message issued through his social media handles, Hon Alan Kyerematen, the outgoing Minister for Trade and Industry, acknowledged the support of the entire political space.

"I would like to thank H.E the President for the opportunity to serve and for graciously accepting my resignation as Cabinet Minister responsible for Trade and Industry, effective 16th January, 2023.

I sincerely appreciate the support from my family, colleagues, my party the NPP, the international community, and the general public during my tenure as a Minister.

I will be addressing the Ghanaian people in the next few days.

The outgoing Trade and Industry Minister served under H.E John Agyekum Kufuor between 2003 and 2007 before his recent reappointment by H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo in 2017.

Reliable sources have it that the resignation is to allow the outgoing Trade and Industry Minister intensify his campaign ahead of the Presidential Primaries slated for the last quarter of 2023.
