Appoh Fever Grips Gomoa Central, Contenders Run For Cover

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) faithfuls in Gomoa Central are heaving a sigh of relief as Rachel Appoh, a former Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection has declared her intention to contest the seat.
 
The announcement brings to an abrupt end the drought in the constituency of her sterling leadership qualities and development in the life of the constituents.
 
Her decision to return follows, intense pressure from traditional authorities and community leaders in the constituency for her to come back and continue the good works she started.
 
Honourable Appoh is mounting a fierce comeback to wrestling back the seat she lost in 2016.
 
Multiple Sources close to the philanthropist, farmer and first-time MP for the area who has been credited with numerous projects in the Constituency.
 
Honourable Appoh is credited with the establishment of Vocational Skills Training Schools, Electricity expansion, 5 community road construction among others.
 
Ms Appoh through her Obaa Sima Foundation undertook several projects in the area which impacted many lives .
 
The charity projects were aimed at empowering women in the Constituency by providing them a source of livelihood.
 
A professional accountant, Honourable Appoh rose through the political ranks to become the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central.
 
Her dedication to the growth of women and gender issues saw her appointment as Deputy Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection under the Mahama administration.
 
She is the Executive Director of Obaa Sima Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that sets out to offer help and provide hope to widows, the physically challenged and children from deprived areas.
 
In Parliament, Hon Appoh served on the Health,Youth and Sports, Employment Committee, Chieftaincy and Poverty Alleviation and Finance Committees.
 
She was also on the Public Account, Committee and a friend to Mines and Energy Committee
 
She is also the  Executive Producer of Ahenfie Court, a popular series on UTV
