NDC Removed Haruna Iddrisu, Muntaka Because They Didn't Support Asiedu Nketia - Kwamena Duncan

Former Minister for Central Region, Kwamena Duncan says the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu and Asawase MP, Muntaka Mubarak were removed from the positions of Minority Leader and Minority Chief Whip respectively because they didn't declare their support for the NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

According to him, the NDC reshuffle in Parliament is a retaliatory action by the party's National Chairman against the two leaders.

"In my election or in my bid to be the National Chairman, these persons did not support me. These individuals, especially the two of them, they did not support me. So, if I am the Chairman now, I cannot see how if you didn't want me to become a Chairman, how you can continue as Minority Leader and Minority Chief Whip," he explained the rationale for the removal of Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka Mubarak.

He disclosed this while speaking on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo".

He vehemently dissented to the NDC decision saying "Haruna Iddrisu, for the six years that he's been the Minority Leader, he has conducted himself well".

"I have had issues on some occasions, some slips but who says that every human being will not have some slips; that you think that a human being is perfect? No way! You put the negatives alongside his positives, there is no doubt that Haruna Iddrisu has conducted himself well," he added.

He rebuked the NDC for their unfair treatment stating "you don't go and change when the person is in Parliament and fighting the cause of your party".
