Savannah NPP Gives Veep Dr. Bawumia A Rousing Welcome In Salaga As He Arrives In A Bus
Scores of NPP faithfuls from Savannah Region who had converged in Salaga for the funeral of Lepowura Alhaji MND Jawula gave Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia a rousing welcome as he arrived in Salaga in a bus Monday morning.
About 40 NPP MPs from various constituencies across the country accompanied the Vice President to Salaga, interestingly in a bus.
The former football administrator and public servant, who was also a member of the NPP, died recently in the United States and his Islamic funeral was held in Salaga on Monday.
Dr. Bawumia led a government delegation to the ceremony which included Ministers of State and a host of NPP MPs.
The Vice President and the 40 MPs made the two-hour journey from the Tamale Airport to Salaga in a bus and as the bus arrived in Salaga, scores of party executives and enthusiast from the Region and other parts of the North gave the Vice President a rousing reception amidst charts of support.
The Majority Leader, Hon Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu and the Majority Chief Whip, Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh were part of the MPs who accompanied the Vice President.
