Bawumia's Link To Administrator 'Mischievous' - Gideon Boako Says As OSP Drags Keck, Others To Court

Dr Gideon Boako has described as "mischievous" reports trying to link Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to James Keck Osei, an Administrator.

Tuesday's edition of the Daily Guide newspaper had as its major headline: 'OSP Drags Bawumia's Administrator, 3 others To Court'.

According to the news article, "Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, has dragged James Keck Osei, the Administrator at the Office of the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and three others to court for failing to comply with a notice to declare their properties and income".

However, Dr Gideon Boako, Spokesperson for the Vice President told Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', that such reports are inaccurate; saying, "the fact that the person is in the Vice President's office doesn't mean he works for him directly; he works for government and so it would've been better to say government's Administrator instead of saying Bawumia's Administrator. It's quite mischievous but it's politics so..."

"He's not a political appointee and he's been in his current position for a long time even before the Akufo-Addo administration came to office. Such people don't take instruction from political heads, they use the Civil Service structure . . . the Vice President can't even punish him when he does anything wrong . . "
