The Police have re-arrested Nana Kwaku Nsiah, former Gyaasehene of Adankwame, in Kumasi, in connection with the alleged killing of a 32-year-old man over a land dispute in December 2009. Nana Nsiah was picked up at a Circuit Court on Wednesday following a directive by the Attorney-General�s Department which was prompted by a publication on March 9, 2001, headlined �A-G To Reopen Adankwame Murder Case�. Police Chief Inspector Mohammed Yusif Tanko of the Ashanti Regional Police Public Affairs Unit confirmed the arrest of Nana Nsiah but would not give any details. The Times newspaper however, gathered from the police that there had been a land dispute over a land at Adankwame, between Nana Nsiah and the family of the deceased, Kwabena Boadu. Both Nana Nsiah and the grandfather of the deceased, claimed ownership of the land. On December 17, 2009 a fight ensued between Nana Nsiah and the deceased�s brother, Lindford Owuo, over the land. The following day, the Times further learnt, some people went to the disputed land and on seeing Boadu around allegedly shot and killed him. His younger brother, Suleiman Obeng, who was with him escaped unhurt. Police investigations led to the arrest of Nana Nsiah, Kwaku Nsiah Jnr, Kwaku Gyasi, and Prince Kuffuor. According to the police source, they were charged with murder at the High Court in Kumasi but after several adjournments the case was later transferred to a Koforidua High Court but the deceased�s family raised concerns about the distance and the case was brought back to Kumasi only to be bundled out of court and the suspects released on December 7, 2010. The police source said the family of the deceased petitioned the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice to re-examine the case. The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice directed the Attorney-General�s office in Kumasi to re-open arrested for prosecution. The police are looking for the other suspects.
