World Water Day: Enough Is Enough!! Stop Destroying Our Water Bodies - Nana Dwomoh Sarpong Warns Ghanaians

Today is World Water Day and is to highlight the importance of water to human and societal life.

The day is to raise awareness on access to safe water and aims to achieve the vision of sustainable water.

In view of the World Water Day, Ghanaians have been advised to protect the country's water bodies.

The President of the Friends of Rivers and Water Bodies, Nana Dwomoh Sarpong, in an interview on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", has urged the nation to use this occasion to stop their bad activities that destroy the water bodies.

He condemned galamsey activities that keep contaminating the water bodies and the unacceptable attitudes of individuals towards rivers and water bodies in the country.

He bemoaned how the destruction of the water bodies negatively impact the society, food crops among others and warned Ghana may import water if nothing is done to check the unsafe use of the water bodies.

Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi, Nana Dwomoh Sarpong called for a change of behavior.

"We are pleading with Ghanaians today that enough is enough. We have gone too far. Let's do the right thing...Water is life; let's protect it," he pleaded.
