The Making of Otumfuo's Beautiful Gold-plated Statue: Prof. Dr. Edwin Bodjawah And KNUST Team Applauded (PHOTOS)

Prof. Dr. Edwin Bodjawah, Head of Department, Painting & Sculpture, KNUST and Head of the KNUST Museum who designed and produced a gold-plated sculpture with Gabriel Bekoe and the larger team of staff, Teaching Assistants, and students have been applauded by the general public for the exceptional work done to erect the exact duplicate of Asantehene's image.

The Asante Nation, a page on Twitter posted pictures taken by @justography_gh of the processes involved in the making of the sculpture.

Scores of Ghanaians have taken to the page to commend the Professor and his team.

Unveiling

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has unveiled a statue of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The statue, gold-plated shows the Asantehene who is also the Chancellor of the school, in a traditional Kente cloth, with what appears to be royal jewelry on his arms and wrists.

The statue which captures Otumfuo’s facial details in an exceptional way could be described as an exact duplicate of his image.
