Multiple people are dead, dozens injured, and others missing after a tornado ripped through several rural towns in Missouri overnight leaving a trail of destruction.

Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) confirmed there are multiple fatalities and injuries after the twister touched down in Bollinger County just before 4am. It is not yet known how many people died and how many were injured. Several people are still unaccounted for. 

Glenallen, a village of just 57 people, was hit the hardest. Drone footage showed shocking damage to the town that was left flattened by the twister.
