Relief And Aid In’t Delivers Free Potable Water To Gamashie

Relief And Aid International, a Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) over weekend, donated three (3) mechanised Boleholes with reservoir (Polytank) to residents of Bukom and its environs within the Gamashie area of the Greater Accra Region.

The project entails the installation of a combination of a basic manually operated and electricity-powered borehole system to provide the Bukom community and its neighbouring areas within Gamashie with clean water.

About Relief & Aid International:

The organisation was established on May 2020, and since then the organization has been expanding continuously in terms of social development service.

It has worked for the promotion of sustainable, participatory development, and social welfare through programs for Health Service and other Human Services through the dissemination of Socially Relevant Knowledge, Social Intervention through field action, Contribution to Social and Welfare Assistance and programmes at our localities, the months, the organization has among others societies thrusts made a significant contribution to servicing the needs of the elderly needy, action strategies ranging from sustainable rural development to health and in all case, the focus has been on the disadvantaged and marginalized section of societies, such as the elderly.

Peggy Anna Naa Ayikailey Adamafio, founder of Relief And Aid International, adding her voice, stated emphatically that the filters of the water pumps would be replaced after every six (6) months in order to ensure a continued supply of clean water for the community.

Before the tape cutting to signify the official commissioning of the borehole, Madam Peggy who is also the President of Relief And Aid International assured the gathering that the electricity bills that would be incurred alongside the operations of the borehole will be fully borne by her organisation for a period of ten (10) years.

Speaking to the media, the personal Assistance to the Founder, Bertha Amanor, explained that the organisation’s vision is to actively contribute to the social and economic development of communities hence the kind gesture of construction, commissioning and Handingover same to the communities in which they (Organisation) operate.

Touching on some projects of the organisation, she recalled that some of the projects undertaken since its establishment include;
Provision of lights to the Tupa Obom Basic School and street lights for the people in the local area.

In the area of Healthcare, Madam Bertha stated that her outfit in catering for the weak elderly in the local areas has provided them with essential needs like medical care and welfare.

Furthermore, Madam Bertha, disclosed that ReliefAnd Aid International has Provided Basic School equipment for the people in the local area to enhance and improve their level of Education.

Additionally, she mentioned that the founder has also supported six (6) brilliant but needy students, two of whom are currently reading medicine with the remaining four (4) studying in various Nursing Training Colleges.

Lastly, Madam Bertha, indicated that prior to the construction of the Bukom borehole water system, the organization had provided Clean and consistent water to underprivileged communities such as Dankyira located within the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region

For her part, the Mayor of Accra, Elizabeth Naa Kwastoe Tawiah Sackey, opined that the boltholes will bring a huge relief to the residents of Bukom and surrounding areas because hitherto the borehole, the only source of water was the sea water which is not friendly with the human skin.

The Mayor seized the opportunity to appeal to other Philanthropists to emulate the gesture by Relief And Aid International so that together, we shall support the underprivileged in our society.
