Former Constituency Chairman and Parliamentary Candidate hopeful for Klottey Korley constituency, Nii Noi Nortey through his foundation, Nii Noi Nortey foundation, has provided school uniforms and other educational materials for students of Mantse Taki Memorial Primary to celebrate his birthday.

The items given include 150 school uniforms, 200 pencils, 200 pens, books, math set, drinks and many more for the pupils.

The affable and charismatic politician also moved  to Nii AMUGI cluster of schools and donated refrigerators for teacher’s common room, water and GHC 5000 to the circuit teachers' welfare fund to motivate and encourage the teachers.

Speaking during a short ceremony, Nii Noi Nortey stated the donations are to ensure the school pupils in the constituency receive quality education and also to celebrate his birthday.

He encouraged the students to take their academic work seriously and be disciplined in discharging their duties.

“I will encourage all of you to take your studies more seriously and be disciplined as you are our future leaders,” he said.

He further pledged to assist them every time they need his assistance.

The items were received by the Education Director of the municipality, Mrs Joyce Osae-Appenteng on behalf of the schools.

She thanked Nii Noi Nortey and his foundation for paying special attention to the needs of the students and for his commitment towards improving quality education in the constituency saying “the gesture will go a long way to enhance teaching and learning in the school”.

She pledged that the materials will be used for its intended purpose and tasked the Heads of the schools to put the materials into good use for the benefit of the students.

She also appealed to other stakeholders to support them with resolving their challenges.

The Chairman of the Education Support Committee for Nii Noi Nortey Foundation, Samuel Oquaye, added that the move to support schools in the constituency is part of his plans of making Klottey Korley a better place for the constituents.

“I am of a strong hope that every member shall take advantage of this program irrespective of our differences on views to empower every member. This program was sponsored fully by Nii Noi Nortey  Foundation to support constituents.”
