Kwamena Duncan Jabs Mahama Over Renovation of Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Tuesday, 4th July 2023, commissioned the renovated and modernised Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, a year after he cut sod for the commencement of works on the project.

The President said, “The thirty million cedi (GH¢30million) modernised Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park is in line with plans by Government to make the Park one of the best tourism and heritage attractions in West Africa. As the outstanding pan-Africanist of his generation, the burial site of Dr. Nkrumah must be appropriate to his status and exceptional contribution to the liberation of Africa from colonialism and imperialism.”

Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show, 'Kokrokoo' Kwamena Duncan wondered why former President John Mahama didn't renovate the facility while he was in power.

"You (Mahama) were a vice President for three and half years, President for six months, and President again for 4 years; Kwame Nkrumah Museum was a mess and it was very embarrassing, you never did anything about it," he stated.
