A Kotoko Vote For Kurt Administration Is An Insult To Kotoko Fans - Jerome Otchere

A former Editor of Kotoko Express (the official newspaper of Asante Kotoko SC) has charged representatives of the club to look at serious governance issues of Ghana football and the interest of the club they prepare for the July 10th Ordianary Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Jerome Otchere said clubs like Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak needed to make their clout in Ghana football count by taking the lead in championing the cause for good governance and corporate practices in the administration of the game in Ghana.

The football writer said this on Peace FM while commenting on the GFA’s response to a letter by New Edubiase United demanding among other things the roadmap for the GFA’s election this year. Jerome Otchere noted that local football fans have to applaud New Edubiase for their steps at putting the GFA on their toes.

“Even though I believe the GFA didn’t respond to the New Edubiase United letter well enough, I like the fact that the club has managed to elicit a response from the FA. So we can put that response against what Edubiase wrote and judge for ourselves” said Jerome Otchere.

“I commend Edubiase because these are the things we want to see our clubs doing, to shape the governance of the game. This is what Hearts and Kotoko should be doing with the clout they have to help cure the injustice in the system” said Jerome Otchere who stated that his club has suffered injustices in the hands of the current football administration so much that it would be wrong for Kotoko representatives to retain them when the election comes around.

“Kotoko supporters of which I’m one, have for example been complaining of selective justice by the administration in several instances” said the former Kotoko Express Editor.

“I believe whoever or those who would represent Kotoko at Congress and during the election should know this: a vote for the Kurt administration would be an insult to our fans and a grave injustice to the spirit of Asante Kotoko”.
