But there were always going to be some teething problems as the new £47million goalkeeper gets accustomed to those in front of him.

It was Harry Maguire who bore the brunt of Onana's frustration after a sloppy pass almost gifted Borussia Dortmund a goal in United's friendly in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

Onana raged at centre-back Maguire after his attempted ball to Scott McTominay in midfield was intercepted, allowing Julian Brandt to tee up Sebastien Haller for an effort the Cameroonian saved.

After Karim Adeyemi skewed the follow-up wide, Onana was quick to let Maguire know about it as he made a beeline for the England defender to angrily reprimand him.
