This Is Only The First Step Towards Our Match To The Flagbearership - Bawumia Declares

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says his commanding win in the Super Delegates Conference of the NPP marks the first step towards winning the flagbearership in November.

Addressing the media after official results of Saturday's NPP Super Delegates Confernce were released, Dr. Bawumia, while expressing gratitude to God and delegates for his emphatic win, said; "This is only the first step toward our match to the flagbearership. I see see this as a step towards wining the flagbearership".

"There is work ahead towards winning the flagbearership and the next election, and we will work together to achieve that."

Dr. Bawumia also noted that the main task ahead of the NPP is to win next year's election and to be able to do that, he noted, the party needs all hands on deck after the internal contest.

He urged all to uphold the unity of the party as it goes through the internal process to elect a flagbearer.

"The main election for the party is winning the 2024 elections and we all have to work together towards that. This will require a lot of unity from all the various flagbearership aspirants so we have to ensure that we don't destroy the unity of this party."

"We should unite together and close cracks so that we fight together! After the internal election and win the election."

"We have to come together and support whoever emerges winner so that we can break the eight. I am confident I will emerge the winner."

Dr. Bawumia won in all the 16 Regions and polled a whopping 629 representing 68.15% of the votes cast.

At a distant second was Kennedy Agyaapong who got 132 and Alan Kyeremateng who polled 95 votes.
