2 Weeks To NPP Showdown: Our Election Process Has Been Fair - Gideon Boako

Dr. Gideon Boako, Spokesperson for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, says he confidently believes the upcoming presidential election of the New Patriotic Party will be fair.

Dr. Gideon Boako offered on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show some activities that the Election Committee and leadership of his party have undertaken to ensuring transparency and fairness in the race.

According to him, the party has cleaned its album which is the most significant thing to the election.

He told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that the album has been presented to all the electoral areas of the party to rid it of any errors, ghost names and to capture every person of voting right.

"There hasn't been any doubt on the constituents of the album because the album is the most important and critical thing but so far the candidates admit the album that the party has put together is a clean album," he asserted.

"I believe whoever wins or loses will have no issues; what we need is unity in the party. At the end of the election, I believe both the winner and losers will unite," he emphasized.

Dr. Boako stressed; "I am confident that the election process has been fair".

Election

It's left with approximately two weeks to the showdown; the New Patriotic Party elects its flagbearer on November 4.

Four candidates namely; Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, former Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto and a leading member of the NPP, Thomas Addai Nimoh will compete for the flagbearer position.

However, predictions are rife that the contest is between the Vice President and Hon. Kennedy Agyapong who has promised to give his competitor a showdown.
