Lateness In Parliament: We’ll Discuss With Speaker To Reconsider His Decision – Deputy Minority Whip

Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim says equally important duties by Members of Parliament caused their lateness to the chamber.

According to him, some duties cannot be left unattended to and pleads with the Speaker of Parliament to rethink his decision to lock the doors of Parliament at 10 am from next year.

Ahmed Ibrahim told NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie' that the leadership of the House will meet with the Speaker for further dialogue.

“We must sit with the Speaker to have further discussion,” he noted.

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin seems worried about the lateness trend in the House.

He said it was not right for him to come and wait for them (MPs) to start the business of the House.

However, Alban Bagbin has vowed to lock the doors of Parliament at 10 am from next year.
