I Spent Almost 180,000 Dollars In Organizing The Concert Rhythms Of Africa - Sonnie Badu

The Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) pulsated with excitement as it hosted the biggest gospel musical event of 2023 so far, “Rhythms of Africa”.

Curated by the iconic UK-based Ghanaian gospel musician Sonnie Badu, in collaboration with George Quaye’s Image Bureau, Rhythms of Africa was a resounding success, with the event selling out completely.

The sheer star power of the event which took place on Saturday, December 9, was enough to tell that “Rhythms of Africa” was meticulously planned and executed.

According to Sonnie Badu he  invested nearly $180,000 into the “Rhythms of Africa” program.

Stressing he indicated that, “Despite the excitement, some folks who promised support let me down, making things tougher. To make ends meet, I even had to sell a special Rolex watch meant for my son, though my wife wasn't too thrilled about that choice.”

“Organizing such events isn't always smooth sailing, and my story highlights the challenges faced when turning a dream concert into reality,” he said.
