Election 2024: Politics of Insults, Mere Propaganda Won't Work - Sammi Awuku To NDC

Sammi Awuku, a Senior Campaign Aide of the New Patriotic Party (NPP's) 2024 flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says the ruling party "will not go into the upcoming elections with insults but with surgical policies."

Sammi Awuku revealed that, the December 2024 elections is going to be based on policies and the comparisons of records and achievements of the main opposition party NDC and the governing party NPP.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show, Sammi Awuku added that, Ghanaians and potential voters must put the two main contenders on a scale to weigh their policies.

According to him, Ghanaians must consider the policies presented by the flag bearers of the NPP and the NDC and consider the ones that is vision-driven, but not the one that is geared towards partitioning Ghana as being done by the NDC.

"If you think the NPP is frustrating you, then the alternative has already shared the booty even before coming into power''.

"If you are a strategist, you have to look at what will influence the voter on the day of elections. Ghanaians should go for a government who is clear in his policies."

A few days ago, on his 'Building Ghana Tour' of the Greater Accra region, ex-President Mahama announced his intentions to relocate government agencies to decongest Accra.

He also linked President Akufo-Addo's hesitance to approve the anti-LGBTQI+ bill to Ghana's heavy reliance on foreign aid.

But whiles outlining the various projects being executed by the NPP government and its expected economic benefits to the country, Sammy Awuku reminded the opposition National Democratic Congress that considering the level of growth in Ghana's democracy, politics of insults is now a thing of the past and mere propaganda will not work on Ghanaians.

"This election will be an interesting one. NPP will not go into this election with insults but with surgical narratives; telling the people what we can do. We have a candidate who has served as an apprentice and has learnt on the job and another candidate who has been a commander in chief before. It is time to give the apprentice who has learnt on the job the opportunity to serve and deliver on his mandate," he said.
