Kasoa Celebrates Eid-Ul-Fitr in Grand Style

Kasoa was turned upside down as chiefs and people paraded its principal streets in celebration of the 2024 edition of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

The various chiefs and Queen mothers within the Kasoa Township marched through the streets amidst music and dance to thank the Almighty Allah for a successful Ramadam.

This year’s event was characterised by pomp and pageantry, seeing all the chiefs and their entourage in their full regalia displaying their true culture and tradition.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, one of the patrons at the street carnival expressed his excitement stating that the street carnival has been held successfully.

Muslims all over the world observe a 30-day prayers and fasting known as Ramadan. During this period, Muslims offer prayers for their countries as well as the world at large as mandated by the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

Alhaji Sadat, one of the royals of the Kasoa royal family acknowledged that the unity amongst the Christian and Muslim chiefs is what Ghanaians need to promote in order to foster unity and bring development in the country.

Commenting on the December elections, he called on all Ghanaians to exercise restraint and allow love and peace to reign. He said, ‘’It is the will and wish and wish of Allah that we all live in peace. Election should not be characterized with violence. That is not what the Holy Prophet Mohammed taught us. We must embrace peace and work together in unity’’.

‘’Political differences should not be the yardstick for violence to occur. Beyond the politics, we are Ghanaians and we are all one people. As you can see, both the Christian and Muslims chiefs are all here with their people. What is more beautiful than this?’’

Speaking about the rising insecurity issues in Kasoa, Alhaji Sadat added that, ‘’this carnival is to portray good image about Kasoa. All the stories in the media about Kasoa are all false. Kasoa, just as other areas have their own issues but Kasoa is a peaceful place. The security forces are doing the best to keep Kasoa safe for all of us.’’
