Meteors Prefer Baba Yara

THE NATIONAL U-23 team, the Black Meteors want to host their Nigeria counterparts in the second leg of the All-African Games qualifier at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi instead of the Accra Stadium. Ghana surrendered their early solitary lead in the first-leg in Nigeria to lose 1-3 against their hosts more than a week ago and the return leg has been linked with the Accra Sports Stadium. But Meteors Captain Samuel Inkoom insists playing Nigeria at the Baba Yara Stadium on July 10 this year would gladden the hearts of the players of the team. According to him, nobody should construe his stand to mean that the Meteors dont like playing in Accra, explaining that the team needs massive support which is always guaranteed at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to reverse the scoreline. Despite losing 3-1 in the first leg, Inkoom is confident that Ghana could beat the Nigerians convincingly to qualify at the expense of their deadly opponents. Inkoom urged the teeming soccer fans in Kumasi to throng the stadium in large numbers on the day to ensure that Ghana qualify for the next stage of the competition.
