Eric Addo In Frame For PSV Eindhoven Return

Eric Addo has made a surprise appearance at the training grounds of PSV Eindhoven sparking rumours he could be in frame for a return to the club reports rife in Holland suggests. Addo spent a 9-year period with PSV, from 1999-2008 going out on loan on two occassions in 2003 and 2008 with Roda JC Kerkrade before finally moving permanently with them 2009. The 32-year-old who was part of the Black Stars 2006 World Cup campaign in Germany was a budding prodigy at 18, then with Belgian side Club Brugges and was tipped to be the next big thing in the world of football leading to a tussle between Belgium and Ghana for his services; one the later won. But that dream has fizzled into thin air due to unrelenting injuries he has had to endure in his career. In 2007, Addo was linked to a move to FC Twente, whose manager Fredericus Jacobus Rutten knew Addo from his time at PSV when he was assistant manager. Coincidentally, Fred Rutten has returned to PSV and has given the Ghanaian a lifeline to training with the club leading to theories Addo is in line to cater for the void in defence the club is hoping to fill before the 2011/12 season commences. The 32-year old left Roda JC this summer after poor form made him surplus to requirements and hoped to move out of Holland which hasnt worked out quick enough for him. This led to the midfielder-turned-defender look to keep shape by maintaining a strict training regiment; something PSV have gladly offered. Word on the street indicates Addo will seek to impress and prove the club does not need to look elsewhere for a defender.
