Man Avenges Fathers Murder Butchers Two Persons After Phone Call

Emotions took the better part of a young man when, in his fury to avenge the death of his father, he went on the rampage and butchered two persons he suspected to have killed his father. The suspect, Kwame Faah, 25, who is now in police custody, claimed that he had a call from his father, Kwabena Ocra, 60, who mentioned the names of the two persons as having attacked him on his farm at Adiembrah, near Bibiani in the Western Region. The suspect told the police that his father was speaking on the phone with him when the line suddenly went dead after his father had mentioned the names of Kwame Asire, 40, and Kwame Nyame, 50, whom Mr. Ocra had said were stealing from his farm. The police said the suspect, on hearing that from his father, immediately rushed to the farm and, after a long search, found him lying dead in a pool of blood, with gunshot wounds on the body. They said the suspect, based on the alleged SOS call from his father, went straight in search of Asire and Nyame and, after locating them, went for a machete and butchered them in front of some community members. According to the police, members of the community were not able to overpower the suspect until he had accomplished his mission. Faah was later arrested and sent to the police station. An eyewitness told the Daily Graphic that after accomplishing his mission, Faah seemed satisfied and relieved. Details of the crime scenes have been collected to assist the police in their investigations, while the bodies of the three deceased persons have been deposited at the Bibiani Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.
