Ex-GHALCA Boss Disapproves Kotoko Sanctions

Ex-GHALCA chairman J.Y Appiah has slammed the sanctions on Kotoko insisting the clubs umbrella body lack the capacity to do so. Kotokos Executive Board chairman Dr Kofi Kodua Sarpong will hold showdown talks with the five-man interim committee on Monday as he seeks to douse the tension between the two parties. Kotoko were slapped with a one-year ban from all GHALCA related activities and a 10,000 Ghana cedis fine for boycotting the presentation ceremony of the President Cup on 1July. But the ex-GHALCA boss says the association erred in handing out the punishment. When issues of this nature come up, it is important we dont rush and act on emotions. The game was sanctioned by the GFA and so the buck stops with the FA and not GHALCA, Appiah said. Its the FAs disciplinary committee that has the mandate to deal with such issues.
